guillaume BUREL, M.S., CCC-SLP
Owner, Speech-Language Pathologist
I am an experienced speech-language pathologist who is dedicated to learning and growing to meet the needs of children with diverse communicative disorders. I have over 10 years of experience serving children at the elementary and middle school levels, practicing in general education and autism-focused classrooms, and supervising interns and speech therapy assistants. I have gained a wealth of knowledge about best practices in special education, and I am passionate about finding ways to most appropriately address children's needs — especially related to speech, language, and social development.
My higher education journey began in Tours, France, where I majored in Literature and Critical Theory. When I moved to the United States, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Language Acquisition and Linguistics from New College of California in San Francisco and my master’s degree in Communication Disorders from San Francisco State University. Soon after, I became a nationally certified speech-language pathologist with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and gained work experience in the public schools within Santa Clara, San Francisco, and Sonoma counties.
I opened my private practice to make high-quality therapy services accessible to all families from the comfort of home. My work at Literally Speech & Language Therapy allows me to design sessions to suit each child, regularly check-in with families, and collaborate with caregivers as an integral part of the therapeutic process.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing board games, and taking my labrador for walks by the beach or in the hills. I play a copious amount of chess, go swimming any chance I get, and practice aikido, a modern Japanese martial art.
Getting Started
Step one
Reach out to us to learn about our services and discuss if teletherapy is a good fit for your family. We offer a free 30-minute online consultation so that you can test out our teletherapy platform, tell us about your child, and get your questions answered.
Step two
If we believe that your child will benefit from online teletherapy services, we will begin with an evaluation to learn more about their communication skills and support needs. We will discuss the results together, form a treatment plan, and schedule sessions that work for you.
Step three
Following the evaluation, we will begin online therapy sessions. Sessions will take place at a frequency and time that works for your family. We will continually monitor progress to ensure that your child is on their way to achieving their goals!
